Baixens obtains the ‘Innovative SME’ seal and consolidates more than 50 years of innovation

This official accreditation, awarded by the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, recognises companies that carry out research, development and innovation (R&D&I) activities on an ongoing basis and which have a significant impact on their sector.

The award of this distinction represents significant recognition of the work that Baixens has been carrying out for decades in the field of preparation, renovation and decoration of interior and exterior surfaces.

Since its inception, Baixens has placed innovation at the heart of its business strategy. The company remains firmly committed to research, the development of new formulations and the continuous improvement of its products, with the aim of offering solutions that are increasingly efficient, sustainable and tailored to market demands.

This vision is reflected in the ongoing promotion of R&D&I projects aimed at optimising the performance of construction materials, refining production processes and developing products that help to improve quality, durability and ease of application in surface renovation and refurbishment work.

Over 50 years driving the sector’s development

Since its foundation in 1969, Baixens has developed products that have set significant milestones in the market. Our commitment to innovation is not merely a business strategy; it is part of our identity. Thanks to this philosophy, we have been able to evolve alongside the market, maintain our competitiveness and establish ourselves as a leading company in the development of technical solutions for surface preparation and renovation.

Some of the key milestones in our history include:

COLBAIX PRIMERA (1971)

The first tile adhesive, formulated with special binders that ensure excellent adhesion of the tiles, regardless of their size and absorbency. It featured anti-slinging characteristics that were unprecedented at the time.

WASH-IMPER (1989)

The first ready-to-use elastomeric waterproofing membrane. It proved to be an excellent substitute for asphalt fabric. It came in a classic range of colours and was characterised by its ease of installation on terraces and a comprehensive durability guarantee.

RX-400 RUALAIX ELASTIC (early 90s)

The first ready-to-use paste product for filling dynamic cracks without the need for physical strips. It was made from fibreglass, had a water-based formulation, could be sanded, and retained its elasticity permanently, making it a real breakthrough.

PX-03 ACRILASTIC TERRACES (2000)

The launch of our most popular waterproofing solution for terraces, designed to prevent leaks. Its high quality and ease of use captivated the market to such an extent that it gave rise to a product range which remains successful to this day.

RX-602 RUALAIX AIRLESS (2004)

Powdered spray plaster for airless sprayers. Its powdered form was revolutionary, as mixing it with water greatly increased its coverage, and just a few sacks were enough to plaster the walls of an entire standard-sized house.

RX-304 RUALAIX WATER-BASED SYNTHETIC (2007)

A water-based base coat with synthetic properties and finish. Revolutionary in its day, it is still regarded today as a premium product for achieving luxury finishes. Their feel and finesse set them apart and are the hallmark of their quality.
